Hindi movie Kai Po Che (KPC) starring newcomers in the leads, has
continued to keep the bells ringing at the overseas Box Office in the
second week too. The film has topped the collection chart in major
markets like USA and UK, pushing down The Attacks of 26/11 and I, Me Aur
Main to the second and third spots, respectively. It seemed to be
giving tough competition to them in other international arenas.
Kai Po Che is leading the race in UK and Ireland. In its second weekend,
the film has collected £33,006 from 28 screens, taking its 11-day total
to Rs 1.36 crores (£1,65,012), while The Attacks of 26/11 and I, Me Aur
Main raked in Rs 25.33 lakhs (£30,692 from 23 screens) and Rs 4.82 lacs
(£5,840 from 9 screens), respectively, in their opening weekend.
Kai Po Che has collected $2,58,240 from 104 screens at the USA Box
Office in its second weekend.
With this, its 11-day collection has
reached Rs 4.81 crores ($8,76,568) in the country. Whereas new releases
The Attacks of 26/11 and I, Me Aur Main have grossed Rs 87.57 lakhs
($1,59,619 from 51 screens) and Rs 29.65 lakhs ($54,043 from 42
screens), respectively, in their first weekend.
While I, Me Aur Main topped the collection chart in Australia, Kai Po
Che landed in the second spot. In its second weekend, Kai Po Che has
collected A$20,891 from 12 screens at the Australia Box Office, taking
its total to Rs 55.59 lakhs (A$99,631). Whereas I, Me Aur Main has raked
in Rs 13.46 lakhs (A$24,114) from 14 screens in its first weekend.
Kai Po Che has also done well in New Zealand, whereas other new films
The Attacks of 26/11 and I, Me Aur Main did not release.
The film has
collected NZ$5,594 from 8 screens at the New Zealand Box Office in its
second weekend. Now, its grand total has reached Rs 9.82 lakhs
(NZ$21,781) in the country.
